THE NOT-SO-SECRET DIARY OF DIVA THE SHETLAND PONY
Part 7: The Shetland Pony Effect
Wednesday 19th June – Sunday 23rd June 2019
All England Jumping Showground, Hickstead
The Hickstead Derby Meet was an exceptional event for Equesure to attend and exhibit at, so much so that we’re already starting to plan for next year!
Horse riding naturally appeals to many people, as it’s the perfect hobby for animal and nature lovers alike. You will develop an indescribable bond with a spectacular creature, and in doing so it will bring both of you many benefits; both physical and mental.
Just a quick introduction about us, what we have done, and where we plan to be!
The things we do for our horses!
I managed to injure myself just after the last update – can’t fathom how but on awakening one morning I had severe pain in my shoulder blades (non-horse related I may add).
Horses, like any animal, can be unpredictable. Ask just about any rider and they will be able to tell you a story (or two) about a time a horse has done something they didn’t see coming. If you’re lucky, you’ll walk away from such incidents unscathed. But what about when luck isn’t on your side?

Part 6: First Show
Despite my lack of confidence over the past few weeks as the giant has been a hyper loon, I braved it and took him for another jump lesson (sounds minimal but the evening before he was exceptionally bad being horrendously sharp and spooky, which really made me anxious).
Getting a new horse is an unforgettable experience. Bringing this magnificent new creature into your life means you’ll have lots of fun to look forward to – but also lots of hard work.
